PUBLICATIONS

"NAIDnews" is the association's and the industry's only dedicated professional journal. It keeps members informed on NAID programs and services, covers what's in the news about information destruction, and highlights legal and government actions and proposals around the world that impact the industry.

MARKETING MATERIALS

"How Outsourcing Your Shredding is MORE SECURE and LESS EXPENSIVE than Shredding It Yourself" is a four-color brochure that clearly establishes the benefits of outsourcing information destruction. It was specifically designed for use with small and medium-sized offices who have historically met those requirements by destroying information themselves.

"Security & Privacy - Made Simpler™ - Facts about Information Destruction" is a four-color brochure created by the Better Business Bureau, in partnership with NAID, which explains the importance of secure information destruction in protecting personal privacy and in fighting Identity Theft.

"FACTA DISPOSAL RULE BROCHURE" is a four-color, tri-fold brochure that explains the FTC's FACTA DISPOSAL RULE to current and prospective clients. While informational in nature, it is designed as a marketing tool and calls upon client to comply with the new regulation by contacting the NAID Member that gave them the brochure.

"HIPAA SMALL COVERED-ENTITY BROCHURE" is a four-color, tri-fold brochure that explains the impact of HIPAA to current and prospective clients who are operating medium and small-sized facilities. While large Covered-Entities have a high level of compliance, small and medium sized Covered-Entities represent a large yet untapped market. It is primarily informational in nature, but is also designed as a marketing tool to develop new business.

"WHY SHRED?" is a marketing brochure for NAID Members that provides facts and comments on the importance of information destruction in today's world.

"SHRED . . . FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS" is a one-page flier, designed to be included with invoices and correspondence that helps clients and prospects put the value and need for shredding in perspective at a time when they are getting many confusing messages.

"NAID Certification" is a marketing brochure for NAID Certified Operations to use in their marketplace to explain the details and value of their achievement.

"the One Professional Liability Insurance Program" is your promotional tool to providing confidence to your clients. This brochure is only available to members participating in the Errors & Omissions Insurance Program.

ADVERTISING

NAID maintains an ongoing advertising campaign on behalf of its members and the industry. Currently, Healthcare Executive, Information Management (ARMA), and Journal of AHIMA contain recurring NAID ads. The advertising campaign will grow soon to include Security Management (ASIS), and many other professional publications.

EDUCATIONAL ARTICLES

NAID's Executive Director and NAID Members are actively publishing articles in the professional journals of buying-group associations. As a testimony to the interest in information destruction and the information destruction industry, several such articles have already been published, and many more are in development.
	Forgiveness Means Never Having to Say You're Not Insured An article written by NAID Executive Director, Bob Johnson on the topic of Professional Liability Insurance for data destruction service providers. The article was originally featured in the Journal of AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) in May 2004. Available as a full-color glossy reprint.
	A Brave New World The Association of Records Managers and Administrators, International (ARMA) has selected an article co-authored by Willie Geiser (Immediate Past President) and Executive Director Bob Johnson as one of the top three they published in 2002.
	Information Destruction Programs: How You Can Defend Them and They Can Defend You This article was written by NAID's Exec Director which appeared in an issue of IN CONFIDENCE, the monthly newsletter of AHIMA.
	Get Serious About Paper Record Destruction This article is a reprint of a recent article that appeared in the Journal of the American Heath Information Management Association. NAID obtained the rights to professionally reprint the article and tens of thousands have been purchased by NAID Members to promote their services to healthcare facilities. Available as a full-color glossy reprint.

NAIDONLINE.ORG

The NAID web site is the information destruction industry's Internet portal to the world. Companies looking for secure destruction partners visit the web site and find the NAID Member closest to them. They also learn about the high standards NAID Members pledge to follow NAID's Code of Ethics, and Certification Program. NAID Members visit the site themselves to network with peers and find details on all the Association's growing list of member services. The web site also provides a vehicle for Headquarters to post breaking news.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Annual NAID Conference has grown to be the preeminent event of the information destruction world. The 3-day event with over 850 participants is an educational experience that benefits both industry newcomers and seasoned veterans by providing ideas and insights to help improve their businesses. The industry's only dedicated Tradeshow EXPO held in conjunction with the NAID Conference, showcasing the world-class products and services of NAID's Associate Members, has also help it to earn it's high status. As one NAID Member recently commented, "The networking alone is worth the price of admission."

CERTIFICATION

NAID has the only accepted third-party security certification program for information destruction operations. The program is an example of NAID continuing efforts to improve and promote the information destruction industry and gain the wider recognition and acceptance that comes with it. GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

As privacy protection and Identity Theft concerns grow and the business environment becomes increasingly competitive, new laws and regulations from government are already affecting the information destruction industry. By being pro active as the "industry voice", NAID is better able to assure that these developments recognize and protect the role of the contract destruction industry.

NAID and NAID Members are very active in developing and distributing the information that policymakers need to develop better, comprehensive legislation.

STANDARDIZED DOCUMENTS AND PRACTICES

NAID provides standardized industry documents such as standard contracts (with HIPAA and GLB components), employee confidentiality agreements, policies and procedures and others.
