COUNTY IMPROPERLY DISPOSED OF DOCUMENTS, TOLD NO ONE
The Oxford Press – Hamilton, Ohio

June 13, 2010- The Butler, Ohio County Department of Jobs and Family Services was regularly disposing sensitive documents without destroying—more than two years ago. Despite being aware of the breach, the County held back on notifying clients, waiting to see if they heard from any of the 10,600 residents that may have been affected. Having not heard from them, the County elected not to notify those residents, leaving local residents angry that their information may have been used for two years without their knowledge.
