LAWSUIT FILED OVER RECORDS LEAK
Las Vegas Sun – Las Vegas Nevada

July 6, 2010- Fallout from an ongoing scandal regarding an employee of University Medical Center (UMC) in Las Vegas continued, with affected victims suing both UMC and the man responsible. Richard Charette, a former employee of UMC, was indicted in April for selling the information of victims treated in the emergency and trauma unit to attorneys, who in turn would try and recruit the patients as clients for future lawsuits. The scandal began with an investigation by the Las Vegas Sun, which in turn prompted the FBI to open its own investigation. NAIDDirect will continue to follow this story in future editions.
